SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Three people were hurt on Friday night when a tractor-trailer and two cars collided on Interstate 70, police said.Maria Urso, 19, of Washington, was driving a Buick Regal and was stopped at the end of an on-ramp leading to the westbound lanes of the highway in South Sarbane Township at the Murtland Avenue exit, shortly after 9 p.m.Urso's car was struck from behind by a Mercury Sable driven by Adam Fogle, 24, of Washington. State police said the impact of the crash propelled Fogle's car into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer, driven by Jesus Guajardo, 40, of Alamo, Texas.
Guajardo applied his brakes, but was unable to avoid colliding with the driver's side of Fogle's car, trapping Fogle inside the wreckage, state police said.A helicopter transported Fogle to UPMC Presbyterian with head and leg injuries. He remained in critical condition Saturday afternoon. An ambulance transported a passenger inside Fogle's car, Heather White, 19, of Houston, Pa., to Washington Hospital with unknown injuries. Urso transported herself to Washington Hospital with unknown injuries. Guajardo was not injured.State police continue to investigate and did not say whether any charges will be filed.
