Two Burned In Washington County Fire Flown To Hospital

Women Suffered Burns On Bodies, Authorities Say

Two people were burned in a Washington County house fire overnight.

State police received a call for the fire shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Crescent Drive in Canton Township.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene reported that the single-story house was heavily damaged by fire, a cause for which remains under investigation.

Gladys Louise Crompton, 81, and Lory Ann Crompton-Jenkins, 48, were flown to UMPC Mercy for burns on their bodies. They were last listed in critical condition.

Canton Township Fire Chief David Gump estimated that the fire caused $115,000 in damage.
