Bill Hillgrove is the senior member of the WTAE Channel 4 Action Sports team, serving as the Steelers Insider.

Hillgrove is the play-by-play voice of the Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Pittsburgh football and men's basketball.

He was named Vector's Man of the Year in Communications in 2000.

A native of Pittsburgh and resident of Murrysville, Hillgrove graduated from Central Catholic High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University. He also attended the U.S. Army Information School.

Covering games is Hillgrove's favorite aspect of his job, while golf, jazz and big band are but a few of his interests. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Theater Factory in Trafford and the board of trustees at Conneaut Lake Park.

Hillgrove's most embarrassing moments are the times when he has been out of breath when he went on the air.

He is married to his wife Rosette, a vocal teacher, and has two children, Bill, a salesman, and Leah, an actress.

Hillgrove enjoys reading anything by Michael Crichton. He also lists To Kill a Mockingbird, Hoosiers, and Bird Cage among his favorite movies.
